In the late 17th century a splendid new residence was built which has been the central building of the Schloss Schönbrunn until today. Once settled quite a ride out of town the Schloss Schönbrunn is now easily reached by Underground.
Schönbrunn Palace was put on the list of UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Sites.
Inclusion in this list confirms the importance of the palace and its gardens as a Baroque work of art."
The gardens are inhabited by masses of trusting squirrels. So make sure you have some nuts in your pocket when strolling through the alleys.
